I'm Still Here*

Shit, haven't blogged since Friday!

Fret not: I'm back on this horse**.

Case in point, this post.

Let the Sunday blogging begin.

*And not on some River Phoenix's or Ben Affleck's brother tip, because that junk was profoundly, impressively wack.
**I don't want you to worry if you stop in your tracks one afternoon, motion arrested by the sudden realization that you haven't read fresh content on WIDWINW in a couple of days (despite checking religiously, likely to capitalize on the amazing rewards program the blog offers its fans***), and suddenly feel a slight twinge of panic: is he still around? Is he alright? Will the blogging continue?!

No, none of those concerns should weigh upon your tender mind. Should this situation arise again, which it most certainly will, just know that I have taken a brief vacation from my vacation.
***More details to come shortly - this is your year!

Pat, Too

While he missed the initial awesome boat, this dude is the best:

Cheers, bro.

Y'all Are Awesome

I've Landed

I'm not a huge Ben Folds fan.

By that I mean I don't know much about the guy*, so I can't say I'm a huge fan- I'm sure his music is grand, just grand. But my knowledge of his catalogue is pretty much limited to that "Brick" tune, some song I think might be about angry dwarfs, and that thing he ripped off from that other dude involving Chat Roulette**.

All that being said, somehow I encountered this track recently - if vaguest memory serves, I might have picked it up via Soundhound - and after seeking it out, my thoughts were confirmed. The verdict?

Damn catchy.

This is a prime example of a song that's been stuck in my head for more than five days, one that I feel compelled to get my fix for, and one that I will almost certainly burn out in short order (only to rediscover in the future to great delight).

Check out this alternative version that features a orangutan.****

Hope you dig it.

By the unrelated way, sun's still out in San Francisco. Have a great Friday.

*Or the eponymous band. Given there's a 25% chance you're heading to dictionary.com right now to check our what this "eponymous" is all about, consider that one free of charge. Hm... new idea: 10 Cent Word Corner. Am I writing this all down? So many good ideas...
**HYPERLINK PARTY, y'all!!!
***Case in point: while writing this post, I had a tab playing the video open, and I was repeatedly distracted by the music, causing this post to take far longer than it should of to write. Catchy.
****See that? Options. That's what we provide here at WIDWIMW. You're worth it.

One or More Things I Did Today (yesterday, again, in this case)

And Let It Be Known, that on June 30th, in then year of 2 thousands and 11, I was up to this:
  • Primarily I was up to enjoying the amazing sun. See "Boy, Howdy!" entry.
  • Lying in Alamo Square park*. Weather? Weather was so perfect, that I'm not sure it even existed. That good.
  • Walking from Brian and Shelly's joint through Golden Gate park, to the Pacific Ocean, and going for a quick and exceptionally brisk dip.
  • Writing a letter to contest the $50 ticket I found on my windshield when I went to move my car. Offense? Wheels not turned (which is to say they were straight) while parked on a hill with a grade above 3%. Nice try, SF. Even if that might be common sense, it wasn't marked anywhere, and giving me a ticket other than a warning strikes me as something of a "we don't give a shit" towards visitors.

As they say, "It were** a day".

*Home of what you might refer to - if your childhood resembled mine in any substantive way - "The Full House Houses". Thankfully, Dave Coulier was no where to be found, cause that could have gotten ugly real fast***.

**Switching it up on you a bit, you know, to keep you on your toes.
***You don't cross Alanis Morrisette and expect me to forgive and forget.
